Signal Connection

  • Use NovaStar-specific HUB75 ribbon cables to connect modules and receiving cards, ensuring secure connections (avoid loose contacts).

  • Transmission Distance:

    • Cat6 Ethernet: ≤100m (no repeater).

    • Single-mode Fiber: ≤20km (recommended for long distances).

Software Setup

Use NovaStar configuration software (NovaLCT/NovaStudio) for the following settings:

  • Resolution Matching: Set the sender card output resolution to match the total LED screen resolution (e.g., adjust to 960×960 if multiple 320×160 modules form a 960×960 screen).

  • Color Calibration: Calibrate module color differences via software (ΔE≤2.5).

  • Brightness Adjustment: Adjust automatically or manually based on ambient light (supports 0–100 levels).

Power Supply

  • Each module requires independent DC 5V power supply.

  • Power Cable Specifications: Wire diameter ≥1.5mm² (copper core) to avoid voltage drop and brightness inconsistencies.


III. Installation & Commissioning Tips

Frame Mounting

  • Modules use magnetic/snap-in installation; ensure flatness deviation ≤3mm/m².

  • NovaStar recommends hot-dipped galvanized steel frames with grounding resistance ≤3Ω (lightning protection requirements).

Waterproofing & Cooling

  • Waterproof Design: Apply waterproof glue around module edges; install drainage holes (diameter ≥10mm) at the bottom of the cabinet.

  • Cooling Solutions:

    • Axial fan (airflow ≥1000m³/h installed on the back).

    • Built-in air conditioner (2P AC controls ≤20m² screen area).

Commissioning Steps

  1. Connect all power and signal cables with power off; use a multimeter to test for short circuits.

  2. Upload configuration files (resolution, refresh rate, color gamut) to the NovaStar main controller.

  3. Power on and use "Red/Green/Blue/White" test patterns to check dead pixels (failure rate <0.0002‰).

  4. Run NovaStudio to calibrate color uniformity (brightness uniformity ≥95%).

  • Test brightness uniformity (≥95%) and color consistency (ΔE≤2.5).

  • Inspect waterproof seals and drainage hole functionality (prior to rainy season).

Long-term Storage
